  • The Jaw Supporter As A Snoring Remedy

A snoring remedy can seem like a dream come true for some people.  If you are one of the many who suffer sleepless nights because you have a beloved partner who snores, then you probably have joined the legion of people who have hoped for a cure.  However, its worth bearing in mind that a lot of the advertising promises much, but sometimes cannot deliver. One snoring remedy which is becoming more and more widely used these days is a Jaw Supporter

The idea behind this piece of equipment is that it will hold your lower jaw slightly forward whilst you are asleep.  Because of this, it means that you will not snore and whilst you may benefit from this, it is probably your partner who will benefit the most from a good nights sleep. You know what its like  you are just dropping off to sleep when suddenly you shoot out of bed  yes, its your husband and he has started to snore again.  Many people compare the sound to that of a chain saw and would give anything to find a snoring remedy.

If you are one of the people who suffer from sleepless nights because of this then you need to do something about it.If you are one of the very many people who are searching high and low for a snoring remedy then a very simple solution may be at hand.  A number of companies now manufacture chin straps which mean that your partners mouth will not fall open whilst he or she is asleep.  As a result of this, they will not snore and you will be able to sleep peacefully and wake up refreshed. One snoring remedy which may prove effective is a special kind of anti snoring pillow.

These pillows are widely available, either over the internet or in high street shops, and can provide a welcome relief from the problem.  The pillows can also help if you suffer from neck or back pain as they tend to be much more supportive of your neck.A sharp dig in the ribs can sometimes prove to be an effective snoring remedy, but the chances are that the silence will not last for very long.

A number of husbands wake up each morning and wonder what the bruising on their side is  little do they know that the bruises been made by their wifes elbow. As a last resort, a number of people are now considering medical surgery as a snoring remedy.

The problem must be severe for such drastic action to be contemplated and must also have some medical cause  there is no point in going through the discomfort and risk of an operation if it is not going to produce any benefits.Numerous options are offered these days which claim to provide a snoring remedy but the solution to this problem could be much more simple than you think.  If you are overweight, smoke and do not drink enough water, you are more likely to snore than someone who lives a more healthy lifestyle.

  • Do You Snore? Try These Snoring Solutions

As well as scientists and people in the medical profession, so-called alternative therapists have been searching for a solution to the age-old problem of snoring for many years.  Its a known fact that men snore more than women (in fact, a man is more than twice as likely to snore as his female counterpart) so whilst the man sleeps soundly through the night, its his long-suffering wife who lies awake thinking shes lying next to a diesel engine.

One snoring solution offered to snorers is a mandibular advancement splint.  It sounds very complicated but basically it is a lightweight mouth piece which pushes your lower jaw forward slightly.  When you are asleep, your airway narrows and causes the soft tissue in your throat to vibrate  this is what causes you to snore.  The splint reduces the risk of your airway narrowing during the night. One of the simplest solutions to reducing the risk of snoring is to try and sleep on your side  if you roll onto your back you are much more likely to snore.

Various companies offer devices such as specialist pillows to encourage you to sleep on your side.  Another encouragement is a sharp dig in the ribs from your partner who is trying to get to sleep.  Its surprising how effective this can be!!Whilst adultery and money problems are usually seen as the main causes of marriage breakdown, snoring has also been cited as one example of unreasonable behaviour.  Whilst this may seem rather trivial, it can play a major role in the breakdown of a relationship.

If one partner is continually unable to sleep, this can lead to so many problems which suddenly seem insurmountable.A simple solution for snoring is to look at your lifestyle.  Make a few changes and you could find a cure (as well as helping you achieve a more healthy way of living).  Obesity is one of the major factors contributing to snoring so why not take the plunge and lose that weight.  Losing weight will not only make you feel better, it will also help your partner who wont be disturbed by you snoring at night. Some of the solutions marketed to help you stop snoring include nasal sprays and nasal strips.

If you are snoring because your nose is blocked as you are suffering from a cold or flu then a decongestant medicine can help.  Your posture can also determine whether you are more likely to snore so it may also be worth investing in an anti-snoring pillow.Trying to find a solution for snoring has been a problem for a very long time.  One of the main reasons for this is that lots of things contribute to the chances of a person snoring.  It would be much easier to find a cure if there was just one cause of the problem.

However, as there are numerous contributory factors, there is no single solution. If you are relentless snorer, this may indicate a medical condition called sleep apnea.  Sleep apnea means that you pause or actually stop breathing whilst you are asleep.  The condition is, in fact, quite common, but many people are not aware that they indeed suffer from it  they are also unaware that they are not getting a proper nights sleep.

  • Prevent Snoring - Some Things To Consider

If you make deep-breathing noises through your mouth whilst you are asleep, this is known as Snoring. When you breathe deeply, this can cause your throat to vibrate and this vibration is what causes the sounds made by snoring. Snoring can happen when you are breathing in or breathing out.

As you sleep, your muscles relax and this can lead to your airway becoming narrower the narrower the airway, the louder the snore. People don't snore when they are awake because the tissues in the back of the throat are held in place by muscles. As you get older, you also tend to snore more as your muscle tone degenerates.

Lots of people have come up with numerous solutions to get snorers to sleep on their side such putting a tennis ball in a pocket on the back of their pyjamas. Raising the top of the bed by putting bricks under the bed legs is also recommended by some people, although its also felt that raising your head on additional pillows doesnt work.

You can help yourself reduce your chances of snoring by changing your lifestyle and eating habits. If you lose weight, exercise more, stop smoking and limit your intake of alcohol and sedative medicines, you can help prevent snoring. You can also use nose strips and decongestants to help keep your airways clear and reduce the chance of snoring.

Most people who snore are blissfully unaware of the noise they are making, but it can cause a major problem for their partner who will sometimes think they are trying to get to sleep in a mainline railway station. The unlucky person is usually just dropping off to sleep when their partner ensures they will have a disturbed night by emitting a very loud snore.

Although snoring is usually treated as a bit of a joke, it can sometimes indicate that there may be a more serious medical problem. Whilst problems with tonsils, adenoids and sinuses are troublesome but not considered serious, if you stop breathing when you're asleep (sleep apnoea), this can be life threatening.

The medical profession is sometimes overwhelmed by people asking for a cure to prevent snoring. However, unless someone is suffering from a sleep disorder such as sleep apnoea or their tonsils or adenoids are enlarged, generally a doctor will not be able to help them and will probably advise home-treatment.

Snoring can cause serious problems in relationships and has even sometimes been used as a reason for divorce. The lack of sleep which one person has to endure can cause a lot of strain in marriages and although snoring is unlikely to be the main reason for the relationship breakdown, it can be a major contributing factor.

  • Mouth Snorers Need Different Anti Snoring Devices

Snoring affects millions of people in all countries of the world and also has a knock-on effect on anybody unlucky enough to have to sleep with them.  Remedies for snoring are sometimes easy but can also be complicated and some are just downright peculiar, with surgery on the nostrils or mouth also existing. You will have a painful, puffy face and spectacular black eyes for some weeks following the operation, but all the discomfort will have been worth it if your snoring is eased, otherwise your sleepless wife is likely to give you the black eyes instead in desperation at not being able to sleep because of your snoring.

More men snore more then women, and snorers themselves suffer even though they are deaf to the dreadful row they are making, as without realising it, they are waking up many times during the night when their breathing is restricted, which means the quality of their sleep is poor and they wake up in the morning tired and groggy and feeling as if they haven't slept at all.  So what can be done about the snoring issue without resorting to homicide?  Several things, but before you go looking online for remedies for snoring, its worth doing some basic detective work to try and realise whether the culprit is a nose or mouth snorer.

You will need to observe the snorer when they are asleep to decide whether they are a mouth or nose snorer; if the mouth is closed but they are still making a noise than they are a nose snorer and their nasal passages are partially blocked.Remedies for snoring in nose snorers are items such as nasal strips and  dilators for the nostrils; he will look very silly, but who cares about that.  If he snores because he insists on falling asleep supine, use your elbows to poke him in the ribs or sew a tennis ball into the back of his pyjamas.Next we come to the other kinds of snorer, mouth snorers.

These are the seriously noisy ones that you can hear several bedrooms away that sound like a mad hippopotamus on the rampage; mouth snorers fall asleep with their mouth open and the loose jaw flesh and tongue base fall back into the throat, partially obstructing the airway and causing the tissues of the mouth to vibrate.Mouth snoring can be caused by becoming obese as there is a lot of loose flesh hanging under the jowls, and drinking an excess of alcohol and smoking are also common culprits, although the most serious cause is a condition called sleep apnoea, where the snorer literally stops breathing momentarily many times during the night.
